Thomas L. Engdahl – President/CEO and Founder >>
Thomas Engdahl is a pioneer and early day entrepreneur of technologies ranging from telecommunications and cable to Internet-based content and video delivery. He has established, built and led technology companies to financial health by conceptualizing and executing strategic marketing and business development campaigns that consistently delivered strong revenue gains. His ability to raise capital, turn around struggling endeavors, and establish joint ventures and strategic partnerships has led to IPOs and profitable sales of a number of companies.
Prior to Magic Ruby, Tom launched, operated and expanded many successful established businesses including: Radiance Technologies, Pathfire, Inc., Applied Digital Access (ADAX), and Alopa Networks. As a start-up entrepreneur, Engdahl has also built teams and successful businesses for Comcast and Arris International. In addition, Tom has held key positions at companies such as M/A-Com Linkabit, Northern Telecom, DSC Communications, and Pacific Bell. He holds six patents for telecommunications and video-cable products and has been active in setting standards in the M&E and telecom industries since 1984.
Tom is a musician and avid music fan with over 6 weeks worth of unduplicated tunes in his iTunes folder. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, flying airplanes, scuba diving and playing guitar.
Charlie Mitchell – SVP, Sales >>
Charlie Mitchell is a respected industry veteran with over two decades of experience building and managing high performing sales organizations in the digital media space.
Charlie has provided solutions to the leading brands in media, sports and entertainment, including the National Football League, Sony, Fox, Warner Bros., Cisco and Nike. Previous to Magic Ruby Charlie held senior level positions at Digital Rapids, Ascent Media, Origin Digital (an Accenture Company) Picture PipeLine and 3 Point Digital.
Charlie enjoys spending time with his family, in an avid sports fan in general and is passionate about Los Angeles Kings hockey.
Cedric Arnaud-Battandier – VP, Business Development >>
A native of France who speaks 3 languages, Cedric has held various strategic and business development positions in the Media and Entertainment industries for over 10 years. Cedric started his career in engineering and moved into consulting where he successfully launched and developed new businesses in multiple continents. He later joined Technicolor and played critical roles at several key business units in Europe and in the U.S. Cedric holds a Masters degree in Engineering from the ENPC Engineering School and an executive training degree from the INSEAD Business School.
In his free time, Cedric enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children. Cedric is also a seasoned traveler, having worked and played in four continents, an accomplished photographer and an athlete who enjoys soccer and surfing.
Winifred Chang – VP, Product Development & Innovation >>
Winifred Chang is a strategic business incubation and digital media executive with proven success developing breakthrough technology solutions for the entertainment, telecommunication, and consumer electronics industries. During her time at companies including Cisco Systems and Dolby Laboratories, Winifred forged key partnerships that accelerated new market entry and growth for both enterprise and consumer projects alike. She brings 17 years’ experience in generating new revenue opportunities through her well-established connections across a broad spectrum of video and entertainment ecosystems.
Winifred graduated with an MBA from The George Washington University and a B.A from Business Administration in Taiwan. She is a tea connoisseur who enjoys the tea tasting over a traditional Chinese tea ceremony.
Stephen M Brooks – Executive Director, Marketing >>
A Digital Media marketing expert with over 10 years of studio and service provider experience, Stephen has made a home at the crossroads of entertainment and technology. Prior to joining Magic Ruby, Stephen led North American marketing for Technicolor’s Media Services and Post-Production divisions, where he oversaw the launch of the MediaEcho second screen application platform. Previously, he helped guide Paramount Home Media’s strategy in HD-DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and Digital Copy and managed the post-launch growth phase of DVD for Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.
Stephen holds an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and a BA from Princeton University. He speaks six languages and once worked for the US Agency for International Development in Kiev, Ukraine. He enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter and watching college football – but never at the same time.
